Building a Brand & an AR Escape Room
We built both a brand and its first product: JAN Scape, a creative studio exploring interactive AR, and The Aviary, an escape room designed around the idea of “escaping the drawing.”

Building The Brand: JAN Scape
JAN Scape is a creative studio created by Jorge, Avilenne, and myself, Natasha. We wanted to explore how Augmented Reality (AR) could turn short-form content into something users could actively participate in. We were particularly interested in platforms like TikTok, where filters already provide an accessible entry point to AR.
Visual Direction
Inspired by Japanese black-and-white comic cafés, particularly their use of linework, monochrome environments, and the feeling of stepping into an illustrated world.
Logo
Designed to feel playful and handcrafted while still communicating the idea of exploration and escape through lock and key symbols.
Colour
Paper White and Inkwell Black form the foundation of the palette, while Dreamy Gold acted as an accent for interactive moments and key details.
Typography
We paired IreneFlorentina as our primary typeface with Gochi Hand as a secondary font. Together, they reinforce the hand-drawn personality to the brand.
Tone
Handcrafted - Atmospheric - Curious - Slightly Surreal
Personas
Elias Shah & Joyce RIvera
These elements established the creative foundation for JAN Scape and the AR experience we developed next.

Building The Product: The Aviary
The Aviary is an AR escape room built around the idea of "escaping the drawing." We transformed a hand-drawn environment into an interactive, browser-based AR experience where users solve puzzles to escape the illustrated world. The experience was designed to be accessible through a smartphone or tablet, without requiring a dedicated app or expensive hardware.
My Role
I developed the 3D assets, interaction logic, and complete puzzle system:
Created the entire puzzle user journey.
Designed the initial models for the cage, key, and padlock in Tinkercad, with additional refinement from Thomas in Maya.
Integrated the assets into the AR environment.
Built and implemented the room logic, triggers, interaction zones, and object states that connect the interactions using Antigravity and A-Frame.

Creative Contributors
JAN Scape was a collaborative project created by Jorge, Avilenne, and myself, Natasha.
Jorge created the promotional advertisement and chose the sound cues. Avilenne created the hand-drawn environment and visual atmosphere. I designed and developed the 3D models, AR interactions, and puzzle system.
The 3D model of the bird was created by PIXEL 3D. We also received additional 3D support from Thomas Stushnoff, whose Maya expertise helped refine the models used in the experience.
